We’re honoured to welcome Lisa Anselmi, daughter of the legendary Roberto Anselmi, who will personally present a selection of Anselmi’s finest new vintages, expertly paired with a bespoke five-course Venetian-inspired menu crafted by Executive Chef Nino Zoccali and Chef de Cuisine George Kohler.
For more than 40 years, Anselmi has defied convention in the famed Soave region, earning the reputation as a rebel with a cause. In a time of mass production, Roberto Anselmi went against the grain, seeking quality, environmental sustainability and independence over commercialisation and appellation dogma. Roberto's hard work and bold choices continue to pay off, as today Anselmi is widely considered one of Italy's best white wine producers and a continuing benchmark of innovation.
On the night, Lisa and Nino will share the fascinating stories behind Anselmi and Venetian cuisine, delving into winemaking techniques, sustainability, and the unique regional terroir that shapes every wine and dish.
Many will already know Nino's deep expertise in Venetian cuisine, showcased in his 2019 cookbook, 'The Venetian Republic.' During this event, you will have the opportunity to learn more about this fascinating chapter in history and to taste the evolution of these traditional recipes from an Australian lens.
